Dear Colleagues:

Our friends at Community Servings, Boston's Home Delivered Hot Meal

Program for persons with AIDS and other life-threatening diseases, raise a

substantial amount of their funding from Pie in the Sky. This morning,

Wednesday, is the last time you can buy a Thanksgiving Pie for this year.

As of late yesterday, there were still Pecan, Sweet Potato, Apple, and

Pumpkin pies available. These pies are prepared by restauranteurs and

caterers throughout Boston. And, especially good news for our kosher collegues,

there are approximately 20 Kosher Apple Pies left prepared by Catering by

Andrew and by Provender Kosher Catering. We are so delighted that kosher

caterers are taking part in this program. If you would like to pick up a

pie Wednesday morning, you can do so at the Park Plaza Castle on Columbus

Avenue (Pies are available at a number of addresses you'll find at

www.pieinthesky.org, but the kosher ones are only at the Park Plaza Castle).

They are sold for $25 each. If you want, I'd be happy to pick one up for

you and get it to you (assuming your address isn't too far away). Let me

know first thing today if you'd like to add to your Thanksgiving

Table a special pie that brings food to a Servings client for weeks.

If you want to learn more about Community Servings, go to www.servings.org

or to www.pieinthesky.org. Many of you know why we make this special effort

to help. Community Servings was initiated by our JALSA members in 1989. We

take a great deal of pride in its contribution to this community.

Happy Thanksgiving all, and do let me know if you want a

special pie delivery.                                 Sheila Decter
