About the Jewish Alliance

The Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action is a new membership-based non-profit organization based in Boston. We are dedicated to being a strong, progressive, inter-generational voice, inspired by Jewish teachings and values, for social justice, civil rights, and civil liberties.

JUSTICE
We will take part in the pursuit of civil liberties and in protecting against discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. We will seek economic justice, defend democratic values, and to reduce the division between rich and poor by promoting tax equity. We support privacy rights, including reproductive rights and genetics. We will work to end sweatshops, and to fight any efforts to impose the death penalty and to otherwise bring fairness to the criminal justice system.

EDUCATION
We will seek to maintain and improve our public schools with programs that ensure that all students have access to quality education in a safe and diversified setting. We oppose programs and actions that harm the public school system.

CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTIONS
We will work to preserve our constitutional protections, emphasizing separation of church and state, the free exercise of religion, civil liberties in a post-9/11 environment, and equal protection of the law.
